Hey Doc:
re: "bees knees" GREAT! That reminds me of a throw-back to the roaring twenties, slang, which, btw I DO NOT remember personally!!! Then it was the "cat's pajamas" and the "cat's meow" that one talked about. Hmmm could a bees knees also be the cat's pajamas? or would that be the "cat's whiskers"? Just wondering???? How about this then????? "The phrase "the bee's knees", meaning "the height of excellence", became popular in the U.S. in the 1920s, along with "the cat's whiskers" (possibly from the use of these in radio crystal sets), "the cat's pajamas" (pyjamas were still new enough to be daring), and similar phrases which made less sense and didn't endure: "the eel's ankle", "the elephant's instep", "the snake's hip". Stories in circulation about the phrase's origin include: "b's and e's", short for "be-alls and end-alls"; and a corruption of "business". Katie Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." |

Awww Doc, don't worry, I won't beat anyone to the punch here. I think I know but I'd make a mountain outta a mole hill if I were to get all bent outta shape over letting someone else figure this one out!

OUCH, Katie!
Yes, for those who may have been reading between the lines, a "fanny wobble" is akin to what we Hoosiers call a "hissy fit!" Anybody else have a Zimbo term they want to try out? Kimmie, where'd you go? |

The context would be this: Kimmie is quite the penga hatter! Right, Kimmie? (Hope I got that one right.) It's a Shona word, if that helps.
