Well, I decided it was time for a thread specifically devoted to the upcoming rodeo! As you all may or may not know, Kimmie & Linda & Rio & now searcher2003 & I, along with some others who don't post here, are meeting up in just a few weeks for a big rodeo event. Rio has promised us that we will be able to participate in the "goat dressing competition" without being mortally injured. And Rose has been giving me some secret pointers on how to manipulate a goat for more effective dressing....I am now getting up at 5 AM to work on weight lifting for my upper body strength AND am scheduling a "practice run" with a local goat in a few weeks, prior to flying out west to rodeo country! Read on for some mantras I've been using as the training begins.....and let the sarcastic comments roll!!!

"A Goat Whisperer gets up at 5 AM to get to the gym because she is focused and determined."
"A Goat Whisperer is in control of her choices. She can CHOOSE to work out. She can CHOOSE to eat nutritious foods and fuel her goat whispering body...."

A Goat Whisperer arises before dawn to strengthen her body and mind in preparation...... A Goat Whisperer is one with her sore pecs...... A Goat Whisperer takes vitamins AND Nutri-Joint because her joints are less flexible than her spirit.....

I may not ever dress a goat nor attend a rodeo but I do want to soar with the eagles so please count me in as an honorary goat whisperer since I first coined the phrase. Y'all may use it liberally of course but what a FUN thread! Thanks for giving my day a smile.
God bless you Dew "Whisperer" Doc Katie 42

I guess it will be a wonderful happening. And I must agree with dear Katie (whatever she said).
As you know, my english is just learned outside english speaking people; so I don't know some expressions used commonly among them.
"Goat Whisperer"... I just can understand it litteraly, but it doesn't make any sense for me (I mean, I don't believe that the sense it makes for me, be the right sense)
If I kindly ask for some explanation, would you mind?
I think this is the only way for sharing your fun, and learn about that mysterious issue. (How can I speak softly without vibration of my vocal cords to a goat? What could I say it? And I know some goats can bite noses, so isn't whispering to them dangerous? LOL )
This goat whisperer is just a take-off from the movie horse whisperer, about a guy with a different way of training horses. We are hoping for the best for these Dear Sisters!!!
Oh, Brakhus, I about peed my pants laughing at your post! You are so cute! Rose is right; there was a movie out called "The Horse Whisperer" & the star in the movie had a special way of communicating with his horses & calming horses that nobody else could tame, etc. So it's a takeoff on that. Now Rose is the one with actual experience, so she is the REAL "Goat Whisperer." The rest of us are just "Goat Whisperers in Training." (Dare I even ask about the "Ram-Lamb" signoff?)

Ok Doc, you can dare to ask! Let's play this like Zimbo! I think it's totally obvious my sign off Ram-Lamb, but I'll let you take a shot! Go for it!!!!
Rio, you did promise we wouldn't be MORTALLY wounded at least, right? (Remember, we're talking about KIMMIE here!) Rose, does the RamLamb have to do with computer RAM? Or could it be your initials? Getting warm???? Kimmie tells me she is "reading along" about the goat whisperer training. I'm not sure how reassuring that is..........And as I said last night, Byrd, the goat will no doubt be in therapy for the remainder of its natural life after this!

Ok, I think I've got it! Goats have some "VRD" (Voice Recognition Device)that only works with whispering. Lambs have "RAM" (Random Access Memory) but it can accessed only by keyboard, I guess. So, you are in training in order to master those hybrids animals in that cyberfarm. Gee! How science has advanced! Are hens connected to the mainboard by ISO port and can be accessed by mouse-clicking? So, the danger is not in goats bites but in a possible electrocution!
(What a nonsense one can think when is still lost, don't you think?) LOL
Doc, I think you should worry more about Kimmie injuring you than the poor little goat.......and there isn't a time limit although the longer you take the more the crowd enjoys themselves at your expense.
Welll i think I better take a change of jeans cause i can see what is going to happen here I can just see it you know that expression ROFL well i will probablly be at it literally and no goat will get me up! or praps i will calmly stroll over to Miss Goatie sit her on my knee and sing>>>
"Hey Miss goat will you marry Mee"

An animal whisperer simply has a way with animals that goes beyond "normal" trainer/animal relationships. An animal that cannot be trained by anyone else can be trained by a Whisperer because the animal senses this person can be trusted.
My older daughter has this type of relationship with dogs. She sits in a room with an upset dog and the dog, within moments, will sit on her lap or on the floor beside her and be still. She says nothing. She does nothing. The dog just knows everything is okay with my daughter!
Me, on the other hand, well let's just say the goat, dog, horse, or any other animal would come close to me for any other reason except to be my friend!
I hope that helps...this is a hilarious thread and I am enjoying it! Thanks friends.
