I've just had such a funny day at work today- so i thought i'd tell you about it. (It's seven pm here)... i was working in the meat prep room with my mum and i kept hearing a strange noise, it sounded a bit like somebody snoring. She could hear it too but we couldn't work out what it was, all we knew is it was happening fairly regularly. Eventually my dad joined us but he couldn't hear the sound. At this point my mum andI decided we had gone mad. BUT then the noise started to get louder, and this time we were convinced we weren't mad so we stopped everything and made my dad listen until he could hear it. he told us to stop being so silly it was just a pigeon.
If it was a pigeon it was the biggest loudest pigeon on the planet ( this thing would need to be about 3ft tall to make the depth of sound coming from this snore!)Still we couldn't work it out. Anyway we gave up trying to work it out and decided it was either a snoring ghost of a cow which once inhabited the barn or an army advancing on us through the woods!- basically we didn't have a clue what this noise was.
A couple of hours later i dropped a pen on the floor and on my way down to pick it up i saw what was making the sound. i have never laughed so much in my life!!! It was the swinging desk fan we had to keep us cool hitting the wall every other rotation!!! The fun you can have in a small room with an overactive imagination hey!
What can I say? Very funny. For those of us in the UK, and in our defence, I should say that we are having unusually hot weather at the moment. In the normal couse of events we need heaters, not fans !!
