I was thinking about this the other day...and so I thought I would start a "just for the fun of it" thread...

Everyone has a movie or two that they hate to admit to other people that they actually like. Here are two of mine...

- The Breakfast Club
- Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Ferris Bueller is actually one of my very favorite movies...I never get tired of watching it. My favorite part of the whole movie comes at the very end...after all the credits have rolled...Ferris comes back on and says to the audience "You're still here?? It's over. Go home. Go." I LOVE that part every time I see it!! *smiles*

Okay now.....time to share. What are the movies you hate to admit you actually like?

I love Alfred Hitchcock's movie "The Birds". I will stop everything when I see it's on TV just to sit and watch it. Everyone thinks I a nut for liking it so much!

For me, "Flashdance" is one. It seemed so cool when I first saw it in my college days. Now, it seems so...I don't know...80's. Smile

The other...I don't know the name of it...is kind of a "rogue animal of the week" movie. It's about a huge gator that lives in a lake and keeps eating people and things. For some reason, the movie just draws me in.

Ok, that's my confession. Big Grin

Searcher...do you mean "Lake Placid" with Betty White? I saw that one...once...it didn't do anything for me. I think maybe it was because I have a hard time seeing Betty White in rolls like that....I keep seeing her as Rose in he Golden Girls...rofl!!

Nope, I don't think that was it. Like you, I can't quite imagine her being in a "rogue alligator" type of movie, either. Especially since I know she's quite an animal lover.

Shy,

Oops! I stand corrected. I looked up more info on "Lake Placid" and now I think it is indeed the movie I was trying to identify. Weird, huh? Sorry. Big Grin

Ok... contributions from the UK... 'While you were sleeping..' and 'My best friends wedding' from the gf who is now very embarrassed.. and...from me, 'Dead poets society' (still cry every time I see it' and I'm also a sucker for any James Bond film as long as it's Roger Moore or Sean Connery...

I was stuck on the couch once after surgery & saw "Killer Clowns from Outer Space" or something like that--It was so bad it was HILARIOUS! (Or maybe it was the medication...) Same thing with "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes".....

Here are two that just jump out as two of my favorites. Are you ready? "Hush, Hush Sweet Charlotte" and "The Color Purple". What does that say about a person?

"Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" WOW!! What a classic. Only seen it once but I feel once is just not enough. I wonder if I can rent that one? I've got to check that out. But really now "Killer Clowns from Outer Space"?? That I have not seen. Will I need my blankee, BoBo and bright lights to watch it? I'm serious now DewDoc. Maybe I can keep my two dogs on the couch with me. I'll check it out and thanks for the recommend. Eek How about "O Brother Where Art Thou?" with George Clouney, John Turturro and Tim Blake Nelson? And John Goodman is such a bad one-eyed dude. And thoes sirens! I wonder what Greek classic this reminds me of? Hummm?

Trust me, Wade. If you have enough post-op medication, "Killer Clowns from Outer Space" is truly hilarious! A classic! I will have to say that the probably all time WORST movie I ever saw was "Return to Oz," the alleged sequel to "The Wizard of Oz." Instead of Toto, there's a talking chicken. And it starts with Dorothy about to get electroshock therapy in an institution to make her "forget" her dreams about Oz......I am NOT making this up! You would need REALLY strong post-op drugs for this one!

I agree with you on "Return to OZ". What were they thinking? The worst ever.

The other sister! I LIKE THAT ONE TOO!

I've never seen Anne of Green Gables.

I have to admit that I like cartoon movies.

Beauty and the beast
Monsters inc
emperors new groove
Lilo and Stitch
Treasure planet
some anime

Since the mid 90's it's the only thing that has a good innocent story anymore.

If you haven't seen the Wallace and Grommit movie, I would recommend it. Lots of good laughs, good for kids, but also with some references to old movies and things than only adults would get. We laughed all the way through.
