Worried about displeasing God?
Do you ever worry about displeasing God? Sometimes it's hard not to. Of course, as Christians, we know that we are saved by faith in Jesus, and that there's nothing we can do to earn God's favor. We know that -- but it's not easy to believe it all the time. There are times for many of us that we are faced with the reality of our own unworthiness. Sometimes it's just because we've been willfully disobedient, sinning even when we know it's wrong. But other times we're just not sure what the right thing to do really is, and we worry that God will be angry with us if we make the wrong choice. Those are the times that we are seeking God, wanting to serve God, yet still paralyzed because we know we're not perfect. We don't want to screw things up by accident and feel God's wrath. And yet God is a merciful God. Notice how God reacts to the people's uncleanness in the following Old Testament passage. Pay special attention to the last few verses.
Re-read the last paragraph, praying for God's guidance in applying this Scripture to your life. Remember, this was the state of God's grace before Jesus came. Just think what it is now! _________________ You Can Be Both Forum--If you join, please use the same username you have here, so that you can be quickly verified by an Administrator let us know you are from GC.org. |

I worry often that I displease God. Sometimes I know it's intentional, yet I just can't seem to help myself, but often it's not intentional. It's little things that I don't think about before saying or doing and afterwords, I realize that I have almost assuradly displeased God with my actions, my words, my thoughts.
I thank God that he is a just and merciful God who understands Human Nature and forgives us even when we aren't all that loveable or really all that worth forgiving. He THINKS WE ARE woth it!! That's what counts to me. _________________ You Can Be Both Forum--If you join, please use the same username you have here, so that you can be quickly verified by an Administrator let us know you are from GC.org. |

I think Paul addressed this well when he said that he didn't do things he wanted to do and that he did that he didn't want to. And summed it up with O wretched man that I am. But then He thanks God that through Him we are more that victorious. It is so amazing how awesome God is, He is Holy and is calling us into His Holiness. This is nothing that we in ourselves can do. He is the one who is conforming us into His image, by bringing us into His family. We then as adopted children begin to take on the image of who our family is. Thankfully our Passover lamb (Jesus) was perfect and by His perfection we are washed.
God gives more grace to the humble so I just desire to be humble so that I can get all the grace I can because I sure need it! |
