Hello everyone. I posted a lot on these boards about 2 years ago. I stopped because I had an internship at a college that could have fired me had they seen my internet usage records and found this site on there. After that summer, I had fallen out of the habit and drifted away.

Since that time, I've come out to my mom (my only parent), and she didn't take it well at all. It's not as bad as a lot of stories I know are out there, but I'm really struggling with religion.

My mom's condemnation of me was primarily religious, and since that time I've had such difficulty separating her rejection from God's.

At this point, I barely know that I believe in God anymore. That's so very far from where I was before I came out to her.

I saw all the great advice and encouragement given to Carecare and I intend to order that book when I go back to school on the 20th.

I guess this is my way of trying to reconnect with the gay Christian community. So hello again and thanks for reading.

Hello Jenn,
Welcome Home Sister! Keeping you in prayer as you rediscover your Faith in Him.

His Grace and Peace Surround you,

Isa 54:16,17
"See, it is I who created the blacksmith who fans the coals into flame and forges a weapon fit for its work. And it is I who have created the destroyer to work havoc;

17 No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me," declares the LORD.

Jenn,
Fortunately, our security in Him does not depend on whether or not our grip on Him has loosened . . . Peter did nothing in and of himself to stay on top of the water.

it is He who holds us in the hollow of His hand. See Him for Who He is—not for who your mother says He is. And remember David's words In Psalm 27:10:

"When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up."

Jenn,
I'm sorry I just had time to read and found your note. Welcome back and we look forward to praying for you and talking with and encouraging you.
God requires nothing except our faith in Him and accepting Christ as Lord and Savior. We will be praying that God will put those people in your life that can encourage you and help you find answers to your questions.
I was rejected by my family and that's a story for another time, but my faith in God became stronger, as I realized that without God I am nothing. You are something Sister, You are YOU and you are a child of a caring, loving God, who wants you to be secure and happy.
When all else fails, you have God carrying you.

Blessings to you and we look forward to hearing more from you.

Jenn,
so sorry to hear about your mother's attitude. But I'm praying for you that you would again find closeness with God and see him as accepting you as you are.

I lately read again some things on a site of an "ex-ex-gay"-ministry http://www.courage.org.uk/articles/change.shtml

and it was very encouraging to me, reading of people who had seriously worked for years wanting to change people's orientation and finally realising that it wasn't possible, nor necessary before God. I'm hoping to bring some of those thoughts to people who reject gay christians. Maybe that approach would be good for your mother, or maybe not, but wanted to mention that.

Wishing you courage,
Bluewings
