Let me introduce this topic with a surprising data: At any place of the whole four gospels Jesus laughs. None of the evangelists record one single smile of our Jesus. But in the "gnostics" gospels there are some of that.

However, I know that my Redeemer liveth and is Joy, Pure Joy as He is Pure Light.

To celebrate the Joy of being Christian, let's play a simple game: Oppose two opposite aspects and develope that you think describe better our Sweet Jesus.

I start with this: Jesus is Joy, so He is not... sadness (the opposit of joy?)

Sadness comes from pain, from lost, from death, and so on.

But Jesus is Joy because Joy comes from happiness, from health, from life, from light in a summer day or a spring afternoon.

Why is our Sweet Jesus Pure Joy to you?

Yes, Jesus is Joy! What a wonderful topic, Brakhus. In the next few days I will meditate on those words, that wonder Who is Joy and Who is Love and add to this thread. Thank you for your faithfulness to Christ and His body.

God bless you, Katie

Jesus is forgiveness. He forgives us all for our sins when we confess to Him.

Jesus is not merciless, heartless, or insensitive.

Hmmm...very interesting thread. I have much to think about with my own answer.

As promised, I have given the topic some thought and want to share that "Jesus is rest".
Years ago I had a bumper sticker that read, "Jesus turns stress into rest."

Jesus is my "rest" and the restorer of my soul, the lifter of my head!

He would say to you today, Matthew 11:28-30
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you REST. [29] Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. [30] For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

In his love, Katie

Jesus is truth. Therefore he cannot lie/is not a lie.

Jesus is the Lamb of God
John 1:29
“The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. “

John 1:36
“And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!”
I was looking for the lyrics to Annie Herring's "Worthy is the Lamb" and found the following with reference to Revelation.

Worthy is the Lamb
Traditional, Revelation 5:12

Worthy is the Lamb. Worthy is the Lamb.
Worthy is the Lamb. Worthy is the Lamb.

Mighty is the Lamb. Mighty is the Lamb.
Mighty is the Lamb. Mighty is the Lamb.

Holy is the Lamb. Holy is the Lamb.
Holy is the Lamb. Holy is the Lamb.

Jesus is the Lamb. Jesus is the Lamb.
Jesus is the Lamb. Jesus is the Lamb.

Revelation 5:12

“Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing."

Rev. 12:11
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. “

God bless you. Katie42

Hey y'all where is everyone? I will add another "Jesus is Joy" by saying that Jesus is the "Oil of joy" promised in the OT.

Isaiah 61:3
"To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the OIL of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified."

Here is another post:

Jesus is VALOR not cowardice.

My Lord is showing me what is important and what is not; and so, how to do what is important with valor. It is written:

"These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and [that] your joy might be full." (John 15:11)

Blessings!

Blessings to you Brakhus. It is so wonderful to think about our Lord and know that He is our courage, our valor and the lifter of our heads. He is our healer and our comforter. All those and more are attributes that are worth meditating on and praising God.

God bless you, Katie

Thank you, dear Katie, for your words and support. I'm very happy sharing all these thoughts with you all, and thinking that they may be helpful. Let's continue to celebrate our Lord for His Love and Joy.

I was meditating on dear Rose's post (may 9th):
quote:
JESUS IS THE WAY!!!

Thank you, dear Rose, to remember us such remarkable statement! "Jesus is the Way!!!"

Our Lord, as "the Way", is helping us to avoid we were lost, to walk blindly, or that our steps were in darkness. He take us surely to our God through Love what is the "Way" also because our Lord is Love Himself: "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love." (1 John 4:8) Remember, also, what dear New Song posted here in may 7th!

The Way is, for us, Security. So, it is not peril or danger or risk. The Way protect us in our steps toward God and among our brethren, and in this particular (dangerous) world: Our own Time and Place.

The Way is, for us, to walk without fear, for: "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? [shall] tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? (...) Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us." (Rom. 8:35,37)

What a Way!!!!

So, we can absolutely trust in our God: "For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways." (Psalms 91:11)

Let's walk that Way and rejoice when doing it!

Jesus is the Way and we are His "walking" ones!

He is with us now and always saying: "Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness" (Isaiah 41:10), and He is expecting us at the end, with His open arms, His Pure Love and His Sweetest Smile, saying: ..."thou art mine"!(Isaiah 43:1)

Be the Way exalted by our hearts!
