You who live in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the Shadow of the Almighty, will say to the Lord, "My Refuge and my Fortress, my God in Whom I trust" Psalm 91:1-2
It is hard to find security in this world. Even if we are financially stable, we may be romantically bankrupt. If we have a great relationship, a fulfilling job, and a little extra in the bank, we may still struggle with issues in our family, or a plane in New York will disrupt our sense of security. There will NEVER be a time where we do not have a need in some part of our life. Anyone who is waiting for a time when they will "have it all together" in all areas of their life is in for a long wait. People who present themselves as having everything together and under control are about real as a mirage in the desert. Get to know them, and you will also know the truth about them. The biggest problem in all this is that people think there is a mountaintop in their lives that they area striving for; a day when everything will be perfect. Read the Bible long enough, and you will know this is not true. Perhaps it is because our weaknesses are the very areas that God can use. We despise these weaknesses, but it is those same weaknesses that make us depend on God, and guess what? There is nothing wrong with that. You will never be the strongest person on earth. You will never be the richest person, or the person who has dealt the best with all their issues. You will never "have it all together". Just when you think you do, it will fall apart. We were not meant for life on our own without God. We were created for fellowship with Him. So, instead of striving to do everything by yourself, allow Him to be the Refuge you run to when your whole world is falling apart. Let Him be the Fortress you find safety in when the enemy is seeking to destroy you. Don't put your faith in yourself, or anyone else. Neither you, or that person will ever "have it all together", but God does. Put your faith in Him. |

Interesting that Job mentioned the same thing>
Job 3:20 "Why is light given to those in misery, and life to the bitter of soul, Job 3:21 to those who long for death that does not come, who search for it more than for hidden treasure, Job 3:22 who are filled with gladness and rejoice when they reach the grave? Job 3:23 Why is life given to a man whose way is hidden, whom God has hedged in? Job 3:24 For sighing comes to me instead of food; my groans pour out like water. Job 3:25 What I feared has come upon me; what I dreaded has happened to me. Job 3:26 I have no peace, no quietness; I have no rest, but only turmoil." John 15:3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. |
