Proverbs 27:6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

When we see this scripture we know that our precious Lord was wounded for our transgrssions and that it was with a kiss that Judas betrayed our Lord.

Proverbs 26:22 says: The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

By this scripture we can see that words are as wounds. Sometimes the word of God exhorts but some times it steps on our toes. It was faithful words, or wounds that gave us salvation and it is faithful wounds, or words that shall guide us through this life.

Proverbs 24:26 says: Every man shall kiss his lips that giveth a right answer.

When Judas kissed our precious Lord it was a sign of a word that was commanded of God to fulfil our atonement through the betrayal of the lamb without spot.

In Psalms it is written that every word of God is right and even David, a man after God's own heart said he esteemed the word of God to be right in all things. Once, again, that right answer was the fulfilling of the betrayal of our Lord through a faithful and right word and a faithful and right offering and sacrifice.

In Psalms 45:1 it says that my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

The words which came forth from the mouth of God were written by holy men of old. That which is written is that which is spoken. Those words, or wounds are faithful to bring forth the fruits of the Spirit and to give us a love of God and man that will see us through this life.

Many today are betraying the Lord with a kiss; or a right answer. They twist the word of God to lead people astray through words that come forth from a carnal mind and not the Spirit of God. Some may do this for pomp, glory or for filthy lucre's sake. They too fulfil the word that says that many shall heap up teachers after their own lusts rather than hear the rightly divided word of truth.

Isn't it good to know that we have a faithful word fulfilled in Jesus? A word that will neither leave nor forsake us as long as we love him more than anything else.

We truly have a friend in Jesus that has redeemed us by his wounds and given us life by his faithful wounds; or words. And since he is the Word of God he is our faithful witness at the right hand of God Almighty.

Many may give the kisses of deceit but thank God we have a fathful wound, or word.

May God bless you.

Well said Tiffany! Another witness to your commentary is found in Luke....

Luke 24:25 "Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:" KJV

Luke 24:26 "Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?" KJV

Welcome to the site btw. Thank you for lifting Jesus name and praising Him for all He is and all He has done for us.

Isaiah 5:24 "Therefore, as the tongue of fire devours the stubble, and as the dry grass sinks down in the flame, so their root shall be like rottenness and their blossom shall go up like fine dust--because they have rejected and cast away the law and the teaching of the Lord of hosts and have not believed but have treated scornfully and have despised the word of the Holy One of Israel." [Amplified]
