Something happened to me this week that I wanted to share. When I began to think about it, it occured to me that other people have had the same types of experiences and that it would encourage, strengthen and be a praise witness to the Lord for people to share their own experiences. What I am talking about are those leading experiences, those mini-miracles, those "oddly-Godly" moments, when God uses you, or someone is used to bring a small miracle to fruit. Maybe I can illustrate it with my most recent experience- I have an older friend in my church that I recently gave a kitten to. (She adores her). Last week, I had the strongest desire to drop by and see her and the kitten. In fact, I don't ever remember needing to drop by in this manner. I don't usually "drop in" on her, but since she lives near the library where I had to drop a book off, I decided to do it on the way home. When I drove by her house, she was outside and began to wave me down as soon as she saw me. Turns out she had locked herself out of the house and could not find her spare key. It was a very hot day and she is not in good health at all. We searched for the key, which we never found. Before she called the locksmith ($$$$$$), I decided to check around the house and see if there were any windows that I could get in through. Turns out, her bedroom window was not locked (Is now) and all I had to do was take off the screen, push it open, and get in and unlock the door. She was very thankful to the Lord. But we were both really touched by the fact that I don't "drop" by and that minutes after she was locked out, I showed up out of nowhere. It was not a coincidence...it was the LORD! Now I KNOW other people have stories of the Lord's interventions, so it is now YOUR turn.....

Another one.............. On Sunday, I was sitting in the choir area in our small church. The door was open. The phone began to ring....and ring...and ring....So, I got up to answer it. On the line was someone who wanted to know if the church was open and affirming. They wanted to know when the service was. The amazing thing is, although our church is in the process of Open and Affirming, we are not yet....but are gay-friendly. This lady's partner of 8 years is going through some major things. They are separated. Her partner is not able to come to terms with her sexuality and God and is in that panic-stricken, anxious state that many of us have been in. Now, I don't usually, if ever answer the phone at church. As it happened, I was the only gay person AT church that Sunday. The other couple was out of town. Even though they were not able to make the service, the partner who is struggling was immediatley able to speak to the pastor. It just left me in awe about how much God cares enough about our struggles to open doors...get people out of their pews who do not answer church phones and happen to be the only person in the church who has gone through the same struggle. Amazing God!
