There are three things that are amazing to me, four that I do not understand:
the way of an eagle in the sky,
the way of a snake on a rock,
the way of a ship on the high seas
and the way of a man with a maiden. Proverbs 30:18-19

What amazes you? If you were this person, writing this verse, what would YOU put down as the things that amaze you and baffle you?
I am amazed by:
God's Genius in all His living creatures- each one is so intricate and created to live in the environment they are in. I am amazed by the infants who grow by the food that goes into their bodies. I am amazed by the butterfly resplendent in beauty. I am amazed in which all living things fit together to share one earth and one creation. When I see these things, I am reminded of the Fantastic Abilities of God.
I am amazed by space- I am captivated by galaxies far and near- our own, and the Andromeda which is the only galaxy that can be seen by the naked eye. I am astounded by the exquisite pictures sent back by the Hubble; the planets, solar bodies and nebulas lit by the stars within. Space speaks to me the Mystery of God; that we live in something that has no beginning and no end, beyond our intellectual limits. How much more there must be a God, above and beyond all this.
I am mystified by things that fly in the air, both man-made and those creatures created by God. I am amazed by the way they float on an airstream, or fly thousands of miles to their ancestral home, never questioning their ability to do this.
I am overwhelmed by the freedom God has given us; freedom that we can spend for evil, or to do good in His Name. He could have created robots, yet He has given free will, a will that allows us to seek Him, and commune with Him; He that is beyond everything we understand and know.
I am amazed by God. What amazes you?

When I was taking Anatomy course in college, I remember being totally amazed at how the human body actually works. For example, all the things the MUST happen in order for me to type this response yet I am thinking about very few of them. In order for me to speak, all the the muscles that must move to make one single sound. Do we ever think about how we do that? No, we speak making many phonemes(sounds) a minute and never once stop to think I must move this muscle to be able to do this etc.

Then, take the time to look at a butterfly. With its wings exactly the same. Most butterflies have a very short life cycle, yet God made them with such detail. How awesome.

Recently, we had to call our pest control company to come on a special visit because of ants. This young man stood in our kitchen telling us how ants send out scouts, find the food, tell the others, guide the others to the food and most importantly once they have their food source, they take it back to the Queen. How big can an ant's brain be? Yet they are VERY clever, organized creatures. Not by chance! By God's creation. Why, I ask as they crawl over my counters!! But I must trust that God created them like that for a reason!!

Blyth, thanks again for your thoughts. I agree to with you about being mystified by things that fly in the air. Some thing I prefer not to try to figure out since it confuses me!!

And I too am amazed at the free will God gives us and His unconditional, forgiving love!!

I am amazed by the miracle of children. How they are created in the womb, grow, learn, mature, and bring so much to the lives around them.

I am amazed at the love that God has for us and that He never gives up on us, even when we continue to stumble time and again. It is a love that our human minds will never be able to fully grasp.

At this time of the year (here at least) I am always amazed at the beauty of God's nature as the trees are so many brilliant colors.

Thanks Blyth, it is good to think about these things.
