Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

This is perhaps, one of the best-loved Proverbs. It reminds us to cast our eyes upward, and not to trust in our own wisdom. This is a difficult thing to do. Somehow, it is easy to cast off trusting in the Lord and figure out how to do things ourselves in our own way. It may not always be that we don't trust the Lord. We may trust Him enough to know that things will be done HIS Way, and not our own. I have been in a desert not just for months, but maybe for years. But during this time, the Lord has been teaching me something very valuable- how to trust HIM. He has also been teaching me not to trust and value THINGS, but to trust HIM. I was always amazed at the faith of Corrie Ten Boom, yet I never knew the experiences that GREW her into that faith. It does not come like some magic dust sprinkled over you, but through the difficulties of life. Corrie, like me, found that God has remained even when we did not think He was there. It is NOT a pleasant time. I know that Corrie's time in the concentration camps was brutal. But the person who came out of there had a witness that reverberates long after her death. MY understanding says that this time is horrible, and that God must be an unfair God not to give me even the smallest respite in this time. (Yet I have not TRULY been without)His understanding is that this will make me more valuable than gold...for Him. So, whatever you are going through, as difficult as it can be, understand that God is making you into the person HE wants you to be. Trust in Him for this.

Christ in You,
The Hope of Glory
Words and Music by Leonard E. Smith, Jr.

1 John 4:13
"Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us,
because he hath given us of his Spirit."

Whenever the cares of life weigh on your mind
And you feel your heart is going to break,
Remember the One who laid down His life,
The One who died for your sake.

Refrain
Christ in you, the hope of Glory,
He has sworn to see you through.
He will finish what He started,
Christ in you is your only hope of Glory.

Remember the Word of God you heard at first,
Remember the way it used to be,
The mystery hidden from the ages past
Has now been revealed to you and me.

Refrain
Christ in you, the hope of Glory,
He has sworn to see you through.
He will finish what He started,
Christ in you is your only hope of Glory.

Look up when the sun is shining in your sky.
Look up when He brings the clouds your way.
Your day isn't evil just because you cried,
You may be learning how to say ...

Refrain
Christ in me, my hope of Glory,
He has sworn to see me through.
He will finish what He started,
Christ in me is my only hope, my only hope
My only hope of Glory.

Back on topic...

Why is it so difficult to trust God at any given time. For some reason it was difficult for Eve. Adam was another story alltogether, trust didn't have anything to do with it.

This is why Psalm 89:14 has become so important to me. That God's authority and supemecy is based on a foundation of righteousness and justice. He's not simply on the throne because He owns everything; He is WORTHY to be on the throne.
